God Ignores Quarantine: He is way too Close
There have been many funny things being posted on Facebook at the moment. Our God-given creativity and sense of humor can provide welcome relief in these uncertain days. This article below from https://babylonbee.com/news/god-breaking-quarantine-and-going-everywhere
The government recommends that everyone stay home and avoid going out as much as possible. Despite this, reports are that God is breaking the rules, God is breaking quarantine and going absolutely everywhere. Hospitals, nursing homes, prisons — wherever He is needed, God is going. He is reportedly visiting everyone and checking on everyone in this time of need and not using any amount of social distancing. God is said to be following the absolute best practices, though, and is at no risk of making people sick but only making people better. “We have absolutely no control over the guy,” the authorities said, “which is extremely frustrating. We want to remind you, though, that you’re not God, so please don’t gather in groups.” God is also reportedly trying to get people to stop hoarding toilet paper and instead put their treasures in Heaven. Treasures that don’t include toilet paper.
I think one of the things I most love about knowing God, is the constant companionship He gives. God is always there, God never leaves, God never has a break from us, God never gets sick of us, God always rejoices over us, God can never not love us. God does not only love, He is LOVE. GOD IS LOVE and we know that true love never fails. God is constant, unchanging, faithful and always near. The psalms are full of verses that tell us this.
We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds.
Psalm 75: 1
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:17 – 18
But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.
Psalm 23: 28
Come near to God and He will come near to you. (Wash your hands . . .😊)
So in these difficult days, when we have to isolate, when we can’t go certain places, when we have to socially distant ourselves. GOD DOES NOT!! Take Heart God is near, God is very close. And if you are feeling alone and anxious Psalm 34 assures us GOD IS CLOSE.
Lord God, we thank you that you are a God who is full of LOVE, who never abandons us even though sometimes it can feel like it. Help us to take you at your word and know that you are always with us. I pray that those who are doing it tough at this time will be assured of your presence, peace, and love in a very real way. I pray they will know your comforting arms of love holding them and drawing them ever nearer to you. Help us to trust in you and your powerful name.
In Jesus Name, AMEN.
