The Wangaratta Wesleyan Methodist Church is affiliated with the Australian Wesleyan Methodist Church and the Wesleyan
Church in America, and is part of an evangelical denomination with churches in over forty countries worldwide.
(Visit The Australian Wesleyan Methodist website:
http://wesleyan.org.au for more detailed information about our denomination's history and doctrine.)
Services began in Wangaratta in 1978 with just 7 members meeting at "The Centre" in Chisolm St. Growth during the early
years was slow but steady, and in 2003 we purchased land on the corner of Parfitt and the Great Alpine Roads.
We have been meeting in our new premises there since May, 2005.
Church services are held each Sunday at 10 am, with evening services held monthly. Our worship recognises the diversity
of ages and backgrounds of our people and emphasizes participation, with a variety of contemporary and traditional music
and messages that reflect our commitment to the Bible and its teaching. Children's Church offers an opportunity for
worship and training for our children, and a creche is available to assist families whose children are small.
Morning Tea after the service helps our church family stay in touch and our Church Library has many interesting and
challenging books available for loan.
In addition to our Sunday worship, our church offers a wide range of mid-week activities designed to cater for the
needs and interests of our people. For more detailed information go to More About Us and
What's On or contact our pastor: Rev. Alan Akers on (03) 5721 9146.
