Rev. Alan Akers
In 1986 Alan & Loris moved their young family from Glenroy to Wangaratta where Alan served in the Wesleyan Methodist Church as assistant pastor with his brother Ray, while completing his BTh through Kingsley College. They have remained in Wangaratta since then, seeing many changes in the community and the church during these forty years.
Alan’s heart is in the local church and its role within the larger Kingdom of God, especially expressed in its local community. He loves to see others within the church discover, develop and use their gifts in Christian service.
Alan is married to Loris and has three adult children and eleven beautiful grandchildren
Outside of family and church, Alan’s interests include gardening, woodwork and sport (these days as a spectator).
